This valuable monograph, on a subject of the first importance to Medical Officers of large Schools as well as to the general practitioner, has been entirely rewritten in the light of the latest available knowledge of the parasitology of the subject. Its bulk has grown considerably, and there are some excellent plates which have been drawn from typical specimens of the fungi. Drawings are, for this purpose, superior to microphotographs, for the reason that the latter only show part of the details at one level of the specimen. By drawings which represent the mass of detail at different levels of the specimen a much more accurate conception of the typical appearance of the fungi is obtained. The varieties of ringworm are: Tinea tonsurans (scalp); T. circinata (body); T. barbce (beard);T. unguium (nails); Eczema marginatum (a special form of body ringworm).
